Hyung-Wook Park is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST). He earned B.S. and M.S in Mechanical Engineering from Seoul National University, Korea in 2000 and 2002, respectively.
Then, he worked as a researcher in Nam-yang R&D center in Hyundai Motor Company, Korea. From 2002 to 2003. he worked as a researcher in Packaging R&D center in Intel, Chandler, USA in 2007.
He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA in 2008.
He worked as a senior researcher in Intelligent Manufacturing and System Research Team in Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM).
His MHM lab’s long-term research goal is to establish and develop “Multi-Physics based Micro/Meso-scale Manufacturing (MP- M2) Processes and Systems”

-2009.03~Present: Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST)

  • Process modeling and design of advanced manufacturing processes and systems
  • Process modeling and characterization of the large electron beam process
  • Fabrication and characterization of the multi-functional woven carbon fiber composites
  • Synthesis and manufacturing of metallic nanoparticle

-2008.02~2009.02: Senior Researcher, Intelligent Manufacturing and System Research Team in Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM)

  • Developing a multi-axis reconfigurable machine tool for the manufacture of complex micro parts such as artificial dentals and micro pumps
  • Developing a five-axis micro/meso-machine tool for fabricating micro-components

- 2007.05~2007.08: Researcher, Packaging R&D center in Intel, Chandler, USA

  • Sensitivity analysis of J-lead compliance of BGA type socket using ABAQUS
  • Developed the user-friendly software for simulation of wetted solder using visual basic 6.0

- 2002.01~2003.08: Researcher, Namyang R&D center in Hyundai Motor Company, Korea

  • Performed the kinematic and static stress analysis of automotive chassis components with CAE/CAD tools for next generation passenger and sport utility vehicles
